Objectives of the A1 level

Level A1 corresponds to the first tier of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). At the end of this program, you will be able to:
  • Understand and use familiar expressions and simple sentences to satisfy concrete needs.
  • Introduce yourself and introduce someone, ask and answer personal questions (name, age, address, etc.).
  • interact in a simple way if your interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly.
  • Read and write short sentences on daily topics (forms, postcards, simple messages).

  • Greetings, introduce yourself (name, origin, profession)
  • Verbs sein, heißen
  • Objective: to introduce oneself and greet correctly

Week 2: Familie & Freunde

  • Family vocabulary, professions
  • Definite/Indefinite articles, plural
  • Objective: to talk about family and friends

Week 3: Essen & Trinken

  • Food, drinks, order
  • Verbs mögen, möchten
  • Objective: order at the café or restaurant

Semaine 4 : Alltag & Termine

  • Jours, mois, heures, rendez-vous
  • Structure de phrase simple (SVO)
  • Objectif : fixer un rendez-vous, parler de sa routine

Week 5: Freizeit & Hobbys

  • hobbies, activities
  • Separable verbs (fernsehen, einkaufen)
  • Objective: to talk about one’s hobbies and preferences

Week 6 : Orientierung

  • City, directions, places
  • prepositions of location (in, auf, neben)
  • Objective: ask for directions, describe a place

Week 7: Kontakte

  • Phone, emails, invitations
  • Modal verbs (können, müssen)
  • Objective: communicate by phone or email

Week 8 : Kleidung & Einkaufen

  • Clothes, colors, shopping
  • Simple comparisons
  • Objective: make purchases, describe clothes

Week 9 : Gesundheit & Alltag

  • Body parts, symptoms
  • Modal verbs + advices
  • Objective: talk about health, give simple advices

Week 10: Reisen & Wiederholung

  • structural consolidation
  • Practical dialogues (travel, common situations)
  • Final evaluation (oral + written)
  • Objective: validate the A1 skills (CECR)
